Blending Art and Branding:
A creative PR stunt that stole the spotlight at Sigma Malta

For their marketing campaign during SIGMA Malta, Royal Partners considered different activations, including buyout of large billboard in the key locations in Valletta or advertising campaign in the airport. We proposed to go in a different direction, creating a unique brand collaboration that would expand their Digital Renaissance event and allow for a creative and memorable activation.

Our idea was to create an art installation in a key city location, allowing for native marketing while promoting their brand connection to art and culture. To make it happen, we brought in Portuguese graffiti duo Halfstudio. The result of this collaboration was a massive 3D mural in Valletta’s historic city centre, featuring playful lettering inspired by the brand’s motto, Drive. Earn. Repeat. Each side of the cube carried a bold, cheeky message, ending with inspirational “Be You. Do You.” message.

While implementing the project, we faced a few challenges. The key was securing the permits from local authorities and UNESCO to create the artwork on site at Pjazza Jean de Vallette. We’ve worked for 10 weeks and connected to Valletta’s Mayor to get all necessary approvals and make the project happen. In parallel, we liaised between the artists and the client to create the artwork. After 12 versions, the perfect design was achieved and the final result was a huge success.
